Audrey Tautou

Audrey Tautou born Beaumont, at Puy-deDomme, France on the 9th of August 1976. Audrey is the largest child among four children. Since a young age, her dentist surgeon parents and her teacher mother supported Audrey's love of drama and theater. This passion that overshadowed her initial wish to be primatologist. It was a quick rise in her career to become a well-known young actor. It was only in 1999, when she started acting professionally. After her studies, Tautou was a participant in the French television show for talent scouting called Jeunes Premiers. Tautou was educated at Institut Catholique de Paris, went to church when she was a child and was brought up Catholic. However she has since gotten away from this background. Neben her acting, Tautou took up modeling and was the face of L'Oreal Mont Blanc as well as Chanel. Alongside her acting work she also has an interest in photography. Recently, she exhibited a selection of her photographs at the Arles Film Festival under the title Superficial. The majority of her photographs concern the spotlight and fame. Also, they include an assortment of portraits of herself as well. Audrey Tautou became a star and was recognized internationally for her role debut as Amelie Poulain in the film Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amelie Poulain. Amelie has been undoubtedly a huge box office smash internationally and praised at many award shows around the world. It remains the highest grossing French language film to date in the US. The film's success led to a huge increase in production. Tautou was later cast in numerous films, including British dramas like Stephen Knight's Dirty Pretty Things and Jean-Pierre Jeunet's Un long Sunday de fiancailles. Tautou also appeared alongside Tom Hanks in Ron Howard's The Da Vinci Code directed by Dan Brown.
